Tension band wiring of fracture distal end of clavicle: Favorable clinical outcome among the patients

چکیده

Background: A fracture of the clavicle is common traumatic injury. It can be classified into middle third, medial and distal third fractures. Around 10–15% fractures occur in third. The ideal method fixation remains controversial till date. Aims Objectives: clinical outcome patients having end using rigid with tension band wiring (TBW) Kirshner wires SS wire to assessed instead other conventional procedures. Materials Methods: Eight Neer type II closed distal-third <3 weeks duration were included our study. reduced by open reduction fixed TBW two K-wires wire. Results: mean average age was 41.87 years. All united clinically radiologically. time union 12 weeks. There case hardware prominence, no related complications. One superficial infection found them regained near normal range motion, constant Murley score for at 1 year 88. At follow-up, all had reached their pre-injury performance levels. Conclusion: an encouraging result This technique simple lesser need expertise also cost effective.

Modified Tension Band Wiring in Adult Distal Humeral Fracture Types A2 and C1

Background: Distal humeral fractures accounts for approximately 2% of all fractures and nearly one-third of humeralfractures in adults. In this regard, Modified Tension Bind Wiring (MTBW) technique was used for the fixation of the distalhumeral fractures type A2 and C1 (AO) to evaluate the early movement and complications of the patients. Methods: This study was conducted on 25...

Tension band wiring versus Knowles pinning for non-union of type-2 distal clavicle fractures.

UNLABELLED PURPOSE; To compare tension band wiring (TBW) with Knowles pinning for non-union of type-2 distal clavicle fractures. METHODS 22 men and 6 women aged 23 to 62 (mean, 39) years underwent TBW (n=17) or Knowles pinning (n=11) for non-union of type-2 distal clavicle fractures. Both techniques were supplemented with autogenic cancellous bone grafting. Functional outcome of the shoulder ...

Treatment of distal clavicle fracture using Kirschner wires and tension-band wires.

BACKGROUND Nonunion frequently follows distal clavicle fracture. Traditional pinning methods using the through acromioclavicular articulation may result in osteoarthritic changes or ankylosis. This study introduces a direct pinning technique in which the acromioclavicular joint is spared. METHODS Twelve patients with displaced distal clavicle fractures received open reduction and fixation wit...

Outcome of distal end clavicle fractures treated with locking plates

PURPOSE Fractures of the lateral end of the clavicle are relatively uncommon. These fractures are unstable due to the various deforming forces which act on the fragments as well as the small distal fracture fragment. At most times the deforming forces are not taken into consideration, and the fracture is not fixed securely. In this study, we assessed a fixation technique using the precontoured ...

Comparing hook plates and Kirschner tension band wiring for unstable lateral clavicle fractures.

The purpose of this study was to compare outcomes and complications of clavicular hook plate and Kirschner tension band wiring for fixation of unstable lateral clavicle fractures. The surgical outcomes of 92 consecutive patients (mean age, 49.30 ± 15.54 years) with unstable fractures of the lateral clavicle treated using AO clavicle hook plates were compared with those of 24 patients (mean age,...
